Privacy policy
Lets is search and a shopping assistant for online stores. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have, whether you run a store that uses Lets or shop on one.
Who we are
Lets (“Lets”, “we”, “us”) provides the Lets app for Shopify, the Lets plugin for WordPress with WooCommerce, and this website, lets.co.il. For any privacy question, write to support@lets.co.il.
When a store uses Lets, the store decides why and how its shoppers' information is used, and Lets processes that information on the store's behalf. For this website and for merchant accounts, Lets is responsible for the information.
Information from stores
- Catalog and pages. Products, variants, prices, stock, images, categories and the store's public pages, such as shipping and returns. We read them to search and answer, and never change them.
- Account details. The store's address, the name and email of the people who sign in to the Lets panel, and the settings they choose.
- Answers the store adds. Questions and answers the team writes in the knowledge center.
Information from shoppers
- Searches and questions typed into the search field, used to return results and answers and to show the store which searches found nothing.
- Photos. A photo a shopper uploads is used for that search. A reduced copy is kept for up to 7 days so our team can check the quality of photo search, and then deleted. A copy our team marks while checking may be kept longer as a test example for photo search. Nothing about who uploaded it is kept with the photo.
- Contact details a shopper chooses to leave, such as a name, phone number or email, so the store's team can reply. They are passed to that store only.
- Saved items. Saved items stay in the shopper's browser. When a shopper is signed in to the store's account, the list is also kept on our servers under the store's customer ID, so it follows them to other devices. A list saved by phone number is kept under that number, which is also used to send a one-time code.
- Usage events, such as a search, a click on a result or an add to cart, counted to measure the store's search. They are not used to build a profile of a person.
Information from this website
When you ask for a free trial, we keep your platform, store address and email to set up your trial and contact you about it. Our server keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security and to prevent abuse.
How we use information
- To provide the service: search, answers, photo search, saved lists and handing shoppers to the store's team.
- To show stores how their search performs, in the Lets panel.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it.
- To contact merchants about their account, trial and service changes.
Service providers
We use these providers, only to run Lets and under data protection agreements:
- Railway (United States): hosting and database.
- OpenAI (United States): writing answers and reading what a search asks for.
- Anthropic (United States): checking answers and reading shoppers' photos.
- Google, Gemini API (United States): matching photos to products.
- Voyage AI (United States): turning text into vectors so search understands meaning.
- 019 Mobile (Israel): one-time codes by SMS.
- Google Analytics (United States): visits to lets.co.il only, not to stores.
Data sent to these providers is used to answer the request and is not sold.
How long we keep it
- IP addresses: 90 days.
- Photos uploaded to search: up to 7 days (except test examples, as above).
- Contact details a shopper leaves for the store: 1 year, then deleted.
- Searches and usage events: kept as counts for the store's reports; not tied to a person.
- When a store removes Lets from Shopify, its data is deleted when Shopify asks us to (48 hours after removal). On other platforms, within 30 days.
Shopify stores
From Shopify we read the store's catalogue and public pages; order line items (products, quantities, totals) through Shopify's web pixel, only when the shopper allowed analytics, to show the store which purchases came through search; and the customer ID of a signed-in shopper, to keep their saved list. We do not read customers' names, emails, phone numbers or addresses from Shopify.
Lets responds to Shopify's privacy requests: when a shopper asks a store for their data, or to have it deleted, and when a store is uninstalled, the matching data is provided or deleted.
When a shopper asks a store for their data through Shopify, the store owner receives everything Lets keeps about that shopper in their Lets panel, to pass on to them.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it, and stores' data is kept separate from each other. No method is perfect, so if you notice something wrong, please tell us at once.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Israel's Privacy Protection Law and the EU's GDPR, you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how it's used. Shoppers can ask the store they shopped with, or write to us at support@lets.co.il, and we'll answer within 30 days.
Children
Lets is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell merchants by email first.
